Lahore. Pakistan's accountability court has acquitted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his wife, a daughter and son in a money laundering case. The court said that the anti-corruption agency had failed to provide concrete evidence against him.
Court declares Shahbaz's second daughter a fugitive
However, the court has issued an arrest warrant declaring Shehbaz's second daughter as a fugitive. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had booked Shehbaz Sharif, his wife Nusrat, son Hamza and daughters Jawaria and Rabia in 2020 for money laundering of seven billion Pakistani rupees during Imran Khan's regime.
Rabia Imran has gone to Britain
The Sharif family had termed the case as an act of political vendetta. Officials pointed out that the NAB could not provide concrete evidence implicating Prime Minister Shehbaz and his family in millions of dollars of money laundering, especially from the UK.
However, the court has declared Rabia Imran, the prime minister's second daughter, a proclaimed offender and issued an arrest warrant against her, the official further said. After being named in the episode, Rabia has left the country with her husband and gone to Britain.
